4 Butler County softball players make all-state teams as Seneca Valley’s Lexie Hames named player of the year
Seneca Valley’s Lexie Hames was at the forefront of Butler County softball players who made the Pennsylvania High School Softball Coaches Association All-State teams.
The standout Raiders pitcher, who’s headed to play at Clemson next season, was named the Class 6A Player of the Year after registering a 0.48 ERA in 116.2 innings pitched. She also had 279 strikeouts, according to MaxPreps.
Knoch freshman Emersyn Jones emerged with a big bat this season, helping the Knights to the WPIAL quarterfinals. She posted a .509 batting average, 10 home runs and 37 RBIs. For her efforts, she was named a first-teamer in Class 4A.
Butler backstop Lily Vicari, a senior, and Seneca Valley utility player Abby Kalkowski, a junior, were both second-teamers in Class 6A.
Vicari paced the Golden Tornado with a .391 batting average, four home runs and 19 RBIs. Kalkowski batted .324 with four home runs and 22 RBIs.
