Meet the Butler Eagle staff’s pets: Pair the pet with the person

In addition to asking for submissions for Butler County’s cutest pets through Wednesday, June 18, staff members of the Butler Eagle are sharing photos of their own furry friends.

But here’s the catch: you have to guess which pet belongs to which person.

Several staff members of the Butler Eagle shared photos of their cats and dogs, along with a little paw-sonal information about each of them.

Try to match the pet with the owner. Can you figure out which pet belongs to which newsroom employee?

Guess whose pet

The staff members participating in this “guess whose pet” contest are managing editor Donna Sybert, assignment editor Tracy Leturgey, community editor Eddie Trizzino, social media specialist Gricel Hernandez, reporter Zach Zimmerman and podcast producer Laura Crago.

Email your answers to Eddie Trizzino, community editor, at etrizzino@butlereagle.com. The person who gets the most correct will be announced in the Butler Eagle.

Don’t miss an opportunity to test how well you know our staff, and be sure to submit a photo of your own pet by June 18 for the Butler Eagle’s cutest pet contest.

Meet the pets below.

Bella
Bella

Meet Bella, the ultimate diva American Bully! At almost 90 lbs, she thinks she’s a tiny lap dog, curling up with you under the blankets while binge-watching TV.

She’s a master at dodging puddles and won’t step outside without an umbrella. Rain is just not her style.

Though she enjoys short walks, she’s a proud couch potato at heart.

With her bright white coat and lovable personality, Bella is sure to win over everyone she meets

Charlie Angel
Charlie Angel

Species: I am an indoor cat and keep watch over birds, squirrels and chipmunks from the top of my cat tree perch.

Weight: My owners say I am big boned with a dragon-shaped face.

Distinguished markings: I have an M on the forehead like my ancestors who kept Baby Jesus warm in the manager and, of course, magnificent stripes.

Favorite hobby: Sleeping, putting toys in my food dish

Favorite treat: Anything Chew sends, a taste of tuna and, for some crazy reason, a few blades of grass makes me sing.

Notable skill: I can shake hands for a treat; that’s both left and right paws. I noticed humans can only use one.

Cali
Texas
Cali & Texas

Meet Texas and Cali: Affectionately and ironically named after two places this staff member has never visited.

Texas, the smaller of the two, has speed. He’d rather have his space while chilling at home.

Cali has plenty of spunk for the two of them and thinks she’s a lap dog.

Potato

Potato is a tortoise shell domestic short hair kitty with not just one attitude, but many, as is the case with many "tortie" cats.

She is 3 years old, and lives in a two-bedroom apartment in Butler where she enjoys climbing her cat tower and looking down at her subjects, chirping at birds from the window sill, and eating delicious canned food.

Bear

Bear is a 7 years old, turning 8 this week. He loves long walks, laying in the sun and playing soccer (with a full size soccer ball) and was born and adopted in California.

He gets along with cats, other small dogs and eventually big dogs — but only after they know how tough he is.

Parker and Stargell

Parker and Stargell are named after their dad's favorite baseball players from the 1970's. They are both nine years old and spend most of their days sleeping and eating cat treats.
