CRANBERRY TWP — With a new name, new location and more vendors than ever, the Cranberry Town Square Market kicked off its summer season on Friday, June 6, with a ribbon cutting, live music and more than 70 booths across the Armstrong Great Lawn.

Hundreds of patrons walked up and down the paved sidewalks amid periodic rain showers, seeking a variety of food, flowers and other items. Meanwhile, vendors and food trucks from all over Western Pennsylvania secured premium spots to show off their inventory.

Megan Epley, who owns Wild and Wonderfilled Flower Farm, is a regular at several farmers markets in Beaver County, but pounced on the chance to attend at the township’s newest public gathering space.

“Cranberry is kind of a place I always come through,” she said. “Then I saw that they were doing like a big rebranding of this and I was like, ‘Well I need to go there.’”

Other vendors, like Barb and Greg Crishi, who own G.G. Biscotti Co., set up shop at the market for two years before it was moved to the lawn. They said it has been a worthwhile event thus far and expected that to continue throughout the coming weeks.

“I think that this market will take off,” Barb Crishi said. “It’s such a nice setting, and they have a lot of different vendors.”

The township’s market will run every Friday through Aug. 29 from 3 to 7 p.m., with the exception of July 4 and Aug. 8. Special events will include Christmas in July on July 25 and a Kids’ Back-to-School Bash on Aug. 15.
