Two Mars Area Primary Center classrooms had a rare opportunity May 30 — covering their building principal in silly string.
The students were rewarded for raising the most in the school’s 2025 American Heart Association fundraiser, from Feb. 1 to 28.
In total, the school of kindergartners and first graders raised $12,424. Julia Semler, the school’s principal, offered to whichever class in each grade brought in the highest number of registrants for the Kids Heart Challenge the chance to “silly string their principal.”
The winning classrooms were Stephanie King’s afternoon kindergarten class, which raised $1,298.43, and Emily Diani’s first grade class with $1,903.
