Seneca Valley DME

Seneca Valley middle school students end of year includes giving back to the communities that shaped them into who they are.

Seneca Valley’s Ryan Gloyer Middle School will be hosting its third annual “Community Grown” initiative, a schoolwide community service project where students give back to the nine communities that make up their district.

Seventh- and eighth-graders will be split into 10 teams. Nine will volunteer at various township and municipality locations Thursday morning, May 22, while one will stay back at the middle school campus.

Some of the locations include the Jackson Township municipal building, Harmony Museum, Harmony EMS, Zelienople Community Park, EDCO Park in Evans City and the Cranberry Township municipal building.

The students’ service projects will include planting trees and shrubs, mulching, cleaning playground equipment, picking up trash, painting benches, and washing township and police vehicles.

Seneca Valley School District includes Cranberry, Forward, Jackson and Lancaster townships; and Callery, Evans City, Harmony, Seven Fields and Zelienople boroughs.
