Mars student competes in national academic tournament
A Mars Area Centennial School student recently competed in a national academic games tournament.
Sixth-grader Kristin Sadhu competed in the Academic Games Leagues of America tournament, held April 25 to 28 in Arlington, Va.
Sadhu qualified for the national event by going undefeated in more than one of the leagues’ academic games held earlier this year, according to the district. The annual competition, open to students in fourth to 12th grades, challenges students to improve their knowledge of grammar, vocabulary, social studies and creative mathematics.
She competed in the elementary division, grades five and six, on a team with four other students from Midwestern Intermediate Unit 4, which covers Butler, Lawrence and Mercer counties.
