A total of $20,000 in scholarships was awarded to 20 high school seniors in Butler, Armstrong and Beaver counties.

The scholars were selected from among 98 applicants based on academic and extracurricular achievement.

Seniors who will attend college, university or a vocational school were eligible.

Seniors from the following schools received $1,000 each.

Butler Senior High: Kristen Benedek, Lauren Birckbichler, Jessica Chwalik, Lauren McKean, Emma Pflugh and Coleton Welter

Knoch High: Gretchen Foehringer and Riley Gillis

Karns City Jr./Sr. High: Tyler Hutchison, Noah Mourer and Ireland O’Donnell

Mars Area High: Emma McCosby and Meghan Smith

Slippery Rock: Kaitlyn Parson

Moniteau: Davina Pry, Mariska Shunk

North Catholic High: Robert Staresinic

Armstrong High (Armstrong County): Ethan Barnhart

Freedom Area Senior High (Beaver County): Anthony Battaglia

Fairview High (Erie County): Maisee Carrier

Armco Credit Union has awarded more than $125,000 in scholarships over the past seven years.
