Seneca Resources hosts STEM program
Cranberry Township-based Seneca Resources recently hosted its Energy Explorers program, a free STEM program designed for local students ages 10 to 14 in which they learn about the natural gas industry.
The program was led by Seneca’s geologists, geophysicists, engineers and environmental specialists who engaged the participants in various interactive activities.
Students explored different aspects of natural gas exploration and production, such as examining rock porosity and comparing drilling methods.
In addition to learning about natural gas, the students also performed water quality tests, used specialized equipment to view emissions, and learned about the importance of pollinators in promoting biodiversity.
