Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh issues warning about disruptive Mass-goer

The Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh has issued a warning about a man who is accused of making a scene at Masses at several churches in Western Pennsylvania.

In a series of recent incidents, an unidentified man has approached the priest during Communion at Mass and screamed at him.

According to an official statement from the Catholic Diocese, this has happened at 10 different churches in the region in the past few weeks. One of these is St. Sebastian Church in Ross Township, where on Wednesday, April 17, at a noon Mass, the man approached a priest and screamed in his face that he was the devil.

Both the Diocese and local police are currently investigating the matter. The Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh urges those with information on this man to call Wendell Hissrich, the diocese’s director of safety and security, at 412-456-3148.
