Jackson Township’s Oct. 30 special meeting will continue public hearing regarding Londonderry Ridge
JACKSON TWP — A public hearing about Londonderry Ridge, a planned development in the township, will resume at a special township board of supervisors meeting to be held 8:30 a.m. Oct. 30.
The meeting will continue discussions from the supervisors’ Thursday, Oct. 15, meeting.
The days leading up to the Oct. 30 meeting will give the developer and relevant property owners time to review revisions to a proposed Neighborhood Improvement District (NID) for the development.
“NID is basically creating an area where special assessments are imposed to pay for improvements in that immediate area,” Anthony Cosgrove, township solicitor, explained.
Under this planning structure, the township intends to fund a roundabout at the intersection of Route 528 and Ramsey Road through the NID instead of spending other taxpayers’ money, Cosgrove said. The revisions clear up how assessments will be allocated, he added.
In addition to serving as the entrance to Londonderry Ridge, the roundabout is also meant to improve driving conditions along the stretch of road — Cosgrove said the intersection is currently an extreme upslope with a hard turn.
“It’s a condition that we’ve known about for years and something that we wanted to improve,” Cosgrove said.
The company behind Londonderry Ridge, Wee Five Development, seeks to construct 108 townhomes and 173 single-family lots on about 119 acres along Route 528 and Lindsay Road.
The project, which had initially been struck down by supervisors in 2025, received tentative approval during the July 16 supervisors meeting. The development was subsequently cleared by the township’s planning commission in September and is awaiting final approval from the board.
Additionally, supervisors approved the appointment of Kylee Cipolla as a new police officer.
Board member Chris Arnold clarified Cipolla is not officially hired yet. Hiring is conditional to the candidate passing relevant medical exams and background checks.
