Two students from Butler County districts are among the semifinalists for the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program in Pennsylvania.

Grace Nam, from Mars Area High School, and Alannah Pavlic, from North Catholic High School, could advance to the national competition.

Over 1.2 million high school juniors from about 20,000 high schools entered the scholarship program’s qualifying test. Semifinalists include the highest-scoring entrants in each state.
