Park projects discussed at first Cranberry Conversation session

CRANBERRY — On Tuesday evening, some members of the community were in attendance at the Cranberry Township Municipal Center for the first Cranberry Conversation Series workshop session.

The event started with a presentation from Kyle Beidler, assistant township manager, about open space and parks and recreation projects in the works at the township.

Beidler also spoke about a potential recreational center, which is in the early stages of consideration. A feasibility study was conducted on the potential project in 2025.

Afterward, attendees were able to walk through 16 stations facilitated by township staff which expanded on session topics.

Attendees were also encouraged to share their own insight or suggestions at the stations, in addition to submitting a postsession feedback survey.

Beidler said that the township is conducting the listening sessions as a step toward an updated comprehensive plan. The township plans to follow up listening sessions with data collection and a planning process in 2027. By 2028, the township aims to have a draft plan ready to share with the wider community.

The second session, which is scheduled for July 28, will look at the challenges facing emergency medical services in Pennsylvania. Additional sessions are being planned for later in the year and may cover topics such as land use, demographics and transportation.
