Retirees recognized at Seneca Valley meeting

Thirty-seven retirees with a combined 960 years of service with the Seneca Valley School District were honored during the district’s board meeting Monday, May 11.

School board members voiced their appreciation to the retiring staff for its “unwavering commitment and service” to students.

The retirees include teachers, librarians, cafeteria workers, paraprofessionals, counselors and transportation specialists.

A reception was hosted for the retirees before the meeting.

Bobi-Jean Alexander, a music teacher at Seneca Valley Senior High School, was the longest tenured of the retirees, with more 34 years of service.
