No one injured in I-79 northbound vehicle crash

No one was injured after a vehicle rolled over “multiple times” on the northbound lane of Interstate 79 in Cranberry Township, according to Scott Garing, chief of fire and emergency services for the township.

Traffic was closed for about an hour, beginning at 2:50 p.m. Tuesday, April 30, as both vehicles involved took up multiple lanes, which caused traffic to be diverted to Route 228.

“The vehicles came to rest in both lanes; there was no passable area in both areas,” Garing said.

The accident is under investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police.

Garing said both drivers involved were walking and coherent when Cranberry Fire and Emergency Services and the Harmony Fire District arrived at the scene near the 79 mile marker on the interstate.

The drivers refused medical attention at the scene.
