The Balls Bend Safety Improvement Project is entering its final phase. Starting Monday, April 15, motorists in Middlesex Township can expect nighttime flagging and single-lane closures will begin on Route 228 at the intersection of Harbison and Park roads.

The work was previously scheduled for Wednesday, April 10, but delayed due to weather.

The $26.5 million improvement project is expected to finish by January 2025. The project involves the construction of four new structures, as well as the addition of a travel lane in each direction and a center turn lane, along with a signal at the intersection of Route 228 and Parks Road.
