16 Seneca Valley students compete at PMEA chorus event

Out of 16 Seneca Valley choral students who recently participated in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association Region Chorus event held at Mars High School, Ayla Alexander, Giulia Siegfried and Graham Logue were selected by audition to advance to the All-State Choir Festival in April.

The Region Chorus Festival hosted student representatives from Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Greene, Lawrence, Mercer, Washington and Westmoreland counties. This year, the school saw more students advance to state than any other school in the region.

Music was selected by Hannah Carr, a professor at Kutztown University and native of Ireland, and included selections written in Latin, Norwegian and Gaelic, in addition to English pieces.

Other participants included Annika Batavia, Connor Benson, Josh Cantella, Nathan Capizzi, Ella Gemperlein, Isaac Hixon, Jacob Maietta, Katie McAdoo, Natalie Palmer, John Rieger, Madeleine Tomo, Madelyn Tresky and Emma Zelesnak.
