Due to a coincidence of timing, Sprankle’s Neighborhood Markets is moving one of its signature community events into Butler County this year.

The fifth annual Campout for Community event will move from its usual home of Leechburg, in Armstrong County, to the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company’s carnival grounds on April 25.

This move is being done to coordinate with the watch party for the Sprankle family’s appearance on the game show “Family Feud,” which is scheduled for the evening of April 24 at the same location.

“When we got word that our episode would air the day before campout was scheduled, we thought the timing couldn’t be more perfect,” said Sprankle’s owner Doug Sprankle in a news release. “We are always looking for ways to give back to our community, so we thought it would be perfect to share this unique opportunity with the people who supported and raised us, and use it to kick off our annual Salvation Army fundraiser.”

Doug is one of the five Sprankle family members appearing on Family Feud, along with his son Colt, his father Randy, his older brother Ryan, and his sister-in-law Brandi.

Campout for Community is a fundraiser that will be streamed live on Facebook. It benefits Salvation Army food pantries in Saxonburg, Leechburg, and Kittanning — all towns with a Sprankle’s Neighborhood Market location.

Throughout the livestream, which lasts 12 hours, Sprankle’s will donate 10% of its sales to the Salvation Army. Skill game manufacturer Pennsylvania Skill has offered to match the donation, up to $10,000.

The Family Feud watch party is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. through 8:30 p.m. on April 24, and will feature pop-up game shows and prizes. The episode of Family Feud featuring the Sprankles will air at 7:30 p.m.
