Woman accused of removing over $2K in merchandise from Cranberry Walmart

A McKees Rocks woman was charged in four separate cases of theft after she removed over $2,000 worth of merchandise from Walmart during the month of February, according to Cranberry Township police.

Kaylie N. Senchisen, 28, was charged with misdemeanors theft and conspiracy for those four instances in February. Two of the cases included accomplices, Kelsey Senchisen, 28, of Pittsburgh, and Cheyenna Senchisen, 29, of McKees Rocks, police said.

Kelsey Senchisen and Cheyenna Senchisen were charged with misdemeanors theft and conspiracy in one incident each.

Police said all of the thefts occurred through the misuse of the Scan and Go self-checkout app, which allows customers to scan items as they shop in-store. Documents showed the customer must verify the order and scan it at the check out kiosk in order to complete payment. In all four cases, police said Kaylie Senchisen failed to pay for the merchandise she scanned.

The first theft occurred Feb. 3 when police said Kaylie Senchisen removed $375 worth of merchandise without paying for it.

The second theft occurred Feb. 5 when police said Kaylie Senchisen removed $644 worth of merchandise without paying for it.

The third and fourth occurrences included accomplices, police said.

On Feb. 18, police said Kaylie Senchisen and Kelsey Senchisen left Walmart with $847 worth of merchandise without paying for it.

On Feb. 19, police said Kaylie Senchisen and Cheyenna Senchisen left Walmart with $909 worth of merchandise without paying for it.

The merchandise removed from the store amounted to over $2,775, documents showed.

Preliminary hearings on these cases are scheduled May 3 before District Judge Kevin Flaherty.
