Advocacy organizations to host inaugural 5K for Child Abuse Awareness Month

Victim Outreach Intervention Center and Helping All Victims in Need will host a 5K race and walk in Worthington on April 27 to spread awareness about sexual assault and child abuse during Sexual Assault Awareness and Child Abuse Awareness Month.

Registration begins at 8 a.m., with the race slated to begin at 9 a.m. Awards will be presented at 10:30 a.m.

To register as a participant or sponsor, visit VOICE’s website at voicebutlercounty.org/havinvoice5k.html. Participants receive a free race shirt by registering before April 15. Online registration closes April 25. Attendees can also register in person on the day of the race.

Registration costs $25 per participant.

The event takes place at the Worthington Fire Hall at 171 Linton Ave. Food trucks will be present.

Both HAVIN and VOICE serve survivors of domestic abuse and sexual assault.
