County Dairy Promotion team seeking potential royalty

The 2022-23 Butler County Dairy Royalty Court, including Dairy Princess Brooklyn Peters, seated. The Butler County Dairy Promotion Team is looking for candidates for the 2024-25 court.

The Butler County Dairy Promotion Team is seeking girls from age 5 to 24 who would like to serve as spokeswoman for the county’s dairy industry while wearing a tiara.

Girls interested in serving on the 2024-25 Butler County Dairy Royalty Court must reply by Saturday, April 6 to team chairwoman, Cara Stephenson, at 724-504-5929. One position is open to boys as well.

The team is seeking girls age 5 to 8 for the Lil’ Miss competition; age 9 to 12 for Dairy Miss; age 13 to 16 for Dairy Maid; age 16 to 24 for Dairy Ambassador, which also can be a male; and age 16 to 24 for Dairy Princess and alternate Dairy Princess.

Winners would represent the county Dairy Promotion team, advocate for local farmers, educate the community on the source of dairy products, and grow into confident leaders in the dairy industry, according to a news release from the team.

Applicants should be passionate about the dairy industry in the county, a user of REAL dairy products, and eager to learn more about dairy farming so they can be informed promoters.

Winners would educate residents on the dedication and hard work of farmers throughout the county as the farmers raise cattle and tend to their land, ensure their animals are healthy and comfortable, and work to maintain sustainably protected and preserved dairy farms.

An informational luncheon will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, April 13 at the North Butler Presbyterian Church, 137 N. Butler Church Road, Chicora.

Teens and adults also are being sought to serve on the youth promoter committee. Those who are interested also can register to attend the informational luncheon.
