Beaver County man sentenced to pay $20,000 for home improvement fraud

An Aliquippa man was ordered Thursday, March 21, to pay more than $20,000 in restitution in two cases of home improvement fraud.

Nathan D. Gamboa, 37, was sentenced to concurrently serve 9 to 23 months and 15 days in prison, but was immediately paroled after pleading guilty to two felony counts of failing to perform after receiving advanced payment for services. He was sentenced remotely from the Butler County Prison.

Cranberry Township police filed the charges in two cases following incidents in March 2022 and April 2023.

Judge Timothy McCune sentenced Gamboa to pay $13,900 in restitution in one case, $6,175 in the second case and $100 fines in both cases. The victims in both cases submitted written impact statements, but neither was read aloud.

Assistant District Attorney Terri Schultz said Gamboa is facing similar charges in other counties, and the attorney general’s office might take up those cases.

Court records indicate Gamboa is facing four cases with similar charges in Beaver County and one in Allegheny County.
