Miller Minutes

Miller Minutes with Butler Eagle reporter, Molly Miller

There’s nothing I love more than when everyone comes home for Christmas.

I'm talking about the Harry Baileys among us. The kids who come home from college and crowd the local haunts for two weeks. The cousin who made a name for themselves across the country. The brother whose job keeps them on the go all the time.

The rest of us who never left home, the George Baileys, listen intently to their tales of experiences in far-off worlds we could see if we wanted to. We could see them, but our roots keep us here, in our hometown.

The Harry Baileys remind us that there’s something bigger beyond ourselves. The George Baileys remind us that actions can be taken here that make big impacts.

Both have their place and their value, and to each the same lesson can be taught: for the holidays, you can’t beat home sweet home.

So here’s to the Harrys and the Georges, to family time and holiday cheer.

As you probably could have guessed, we don’t have many events to highlight this weekend.

There is a community-wide luminaria display beginning at 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve is being organized by the East Brady Area Development Corp. The development corporation will provide the luminaria to light the full span of the East Brady Bridge, and residents and business owners are invited to make luminaria to place along the front of their properties.

May your days be merry and bright all the same.

Be safe and watch out for each other this weekend.
