Slippery Rock to host Pittsburgh author for Holocaust remembrance Program

Pittsburgh author Lee Goldman Kikel will present a lecture at Slippery Rock University’s annual Holocaust Remembrance Program from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 27, at the Miller Theater in the Performing Arts Center.

The event is titled “First Person Testimony: A Multidisciplinary Approach to Holocaust Education” and is free and open to the public.

Kikel's book, “Perseverance: One Holocaust Survivor's Journey from Poland to America,” details her father’s experiences as a Holocaust survivor as well her family history.

The program will also feature musical performances with flutist Kathy Melago, SRU professor of music and the SRU Symphonic Wind Ensemble with Jonathan Helmick, an SRU professor of music.

SRU's Holocaust Remembrance Program is co-sponsored by the College of Liberal Arts, the Gender Studies Program, the Music Department and the History Department.
