Sentence court

The following defendants were sentenced April 21 in Butler County Common Pleas Court by Judge Kelley Streib.

Kristoffer Michael Ion, 30, of Butler was sentenced to serve 24 to 60 months in state prison after pleading guilty to a felony charge of escape filed by Butler County detectives following a June 6, 2018, incident. Detectives said Ion removed an electronic monitoring device he was ordered to wear on April 20 when he was found in violation of parole he was serving following his conviction in a 2013 burglary case in Forward Township.

Tyler James Herrmann, 28, of Zelienople was sentenced to serve nine to 23 1/2 months in the county prison, but will be paroled after serving 90 days to serve six months of house arrest followed by 48 months of probation and pay fines totaling $500 after pleading guilty to misdemeanor charges of unlawful restraint and simple assault filed by Jackson Township police following a May 5, 2017, incident. No action was taken on felony charges of rape, sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and aggravated assault, and a misdemeanor charge of indecent assault.

Douglas Luton Robertson, 64, of Butler was sentenced to serve 15 to 30 months in prison, but was paroled to serve 30 months of probation including 18 months of house arrest, pay a $2,500 fine, and complete alcohol highway safety school, 40 hours of community service and a victim impact panel after pleading guilty to his third driving under the influence offense filed by Butler City police following a Feb. 25, 2021, incident.

Rastis Oakley Marcy, 44, of Butler was sentenced to serve one to two months in prison, but was paroled to serve 10 months of probation, and pay $320 in restitution and a $50 fine after pleading guilty to a charge of retail theft filed by Butler City police following an April 6, 2021, incident.

Sharon S. McGinnis, 50, of Butler was sentenced to serve a total of 12 months of probation including 49 days of house arrest, pay $1,250 in fines and complete alcohol highway safety school, 80 hours of community service, litter pickup and a victim impact panel after pleading guilty to her first and second DUI offenses filed by state police following incidents on July 8, 2021, and Sept. 11, 2021.

James Ronald Powers, 48, of Slippery Rock was sentenced to serve a total of 24 months of probation and pay fines totaling $50 after pleading guilty to misdemeanor charges of terroristic threats and recklessly endangering another person filed by state police following a May 5, 2019, incident. Felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor simple assault charges were dismissed.

Valerie Elizabeth Toomey, 36, of Butler was sentenced to serve six months of probation after pleading guilty to a charge of simple assault filed by Butler City police following a June 22, 2018, incident.

Quinton Matthew Bailey, 25, of Karns City was sentenced to serve 12 months of probation, pay a $100 fine and complete anger management counseling after pleading guilty to a charge of simple assault filed by state police following a July 31, 2021, incident.

Brian Leroy McNeish, 49, of West Sunbury was sentenced to serve 60 months of probation including 12 months of house arrest, pay fines totaling $2,500 and complete alcohol highway safety school, 40 hours of community service and a victim impact panel after pleading guilty to his second DUI filed by state police following a March 9, 2021, incident. Other charges were dismissed.

Joshua Delano Conner, 40, of East Brady was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in prison, pay a $1,000 fine and complete eight hours of community service, litter pickup and a victim impact panel after pleading guilty to a charge of DUI filed by state police following a March 8, 2020, incident. Other charges were withdrawn.

Marc Antonio Pippens, 48, of Butler was sentenced to serve six to 12 months in prison, but was paroled, followed by 12 months of probation and pay fines totaling $200 after pleading guilty to charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia filed by county detectives following Feb. 8, 2020, incident.

Gary Fred Sweesy, 48, of Harrisville was sentenced to concurrently serve two terms of 12 months of probation and pay fines totaling $50 after pleading guilty to two counts of defiant trespass filed by state police following separate incidents on Dec. 5, 2020, and Dec. 31, 2020.
