Heinz History Center to host annual ‘Treasures in the Archives’ program
The Detre Library and Archives at the Heinz History Center will host its annual Treasures in the Archives program from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 10.
The event explores historic documents and photographs in Western Pennsylvania.
It will examine historic plans for Pittsburgh, showcasing corporate records, design proposals and writings imagining what the city could have been, and will include a presentation on amateur films from the 1920s to the 1960s never seen publicly.
Additionally, the event will tell the stories of Pittsburgh’s camp for disabled teens and of nearly 130 local Jewish family circles that developed into formal associations.
Admission is free, but registration is required. Register at heinzhistorycenter.org/events.
