Exceptional employees across Butler County in health care

Spotlight on local talent

The Butler Eagle asked health care facilities across Butler County to submit a number of their exceptional employees. Below are some submissions:

Tracy Reed

Tracy Reed is a clinical assistant at BHS Cardiology Consultants. She has been employed by the health system for five years.

She was nominated by executive director for cardiovascular services Heidi Drennen.

“Tracy is the face of our practice. She is the first person to meet and greet all patients and visitors,” Drennen said. “She is always willing to go above and beyond to ensure that any needs of patients, families, or her cardiology family are met with genuine care and compassion.”

Melissa Conklin

Melissa Conklin is a department secretary at Independence Health System’s Butler Memorial Hospital. She has been employed there for about 20 years.

She was nominated by director of medical surgical and telemetry Bill Hildebrandt.

“She is extremely organized and adaptable to the day-to-day operations of the medical-surgical and telemetry service lines, assisting with whatever clerical duties need done,” he said. “Melissa has a passion for the work that she does and goes above and beyond to assure smooth operations.”

In her role, she oversees the onboarding of students, including nursing, physician assistants and providers.

“Melissa is kind and caring, taking time to visit and listen to patients who need someone to talk to … Melissa is an exceptional employee, a devoted mother and an exemplary citizen of our community and we are so thankful to have her on our team.”

Shannon Dunlap

Shannon Dunlap is the practice manager at Allegheny Health Network Cancer Institute. She was nominated by senior public relations analyst Emily Beatty.

“Shannon does an exceptional job of managing the AHN Cancer Institute in Butler. This is a regional asset to the community in Butler County,” Beatty said. “Cancer care is constantly evolving and changing, and Shannon does a great job of ensuring the AHN Cancer Institute is set up for success.”

Mary Beth Dadowski

Mary Beth Dadowski is a senior cardiopulmonary rehab nurse at UPMC Passavant. She has been employed there for 30 years.

She was nominated by manager of operations Taylor O’Dair.

“She has a proven track record of commitment to enhancing the health and wellness of the community,” O’Dair said. “Her exceptional skills in cardiopulmonary rehab are clearly reflected in her work, where she consistently delivers top-quality care to her patients.”

Beyond her clinical practice, Mary Beth is actively involved in many health care community initiatives, including developing and conducting smoking cessation programs.

“Her dedication is truly remarkable and serves as an inspiration to many,” O’Dair said. “With her unwavering commitment to advancing health care, Mary Beth is a valuable asset to the UPMC Passavant team and the broader health care community.”
