Enrollment up at five state universities this semester
Slippery Rock University increased first-time undergraduate degree or certificate-seeking enrollment this semester by more than 5%.
Total enrollment at SRU increased by 1.4% this semester, according to a Monday, Oct. 9 news release from the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE).
PASSHE said six other state universities also increased enrollment in first-time undergraduate degrees this school year. New first-time undergraduate degree or certificate-seeking student enrollment at those seven universities increased 9%.
According to the release, fall enrollment of new students increased for the second consecutive year at state-owned universities, PASSHE said. Enrollment of new first-time students increased 3.4% in fall 2023, and is up a combined 10% in fall 2022 and fall 2023.
