The 10th Annual Band Jam and Grass Roots Music Festival begins Thursday, Aug. 24 at Cooper’s Lake Campground in Slippery Rock with a free concert.

Thursday’s free event will feature five local singer-songwriters in an “in the round” performance from 7 to 9 p.m.

Live music will then kick off Friday, Aug. 25, at 5 p.m. with seven bands, and again on Saturday, Aug. 26. at 11 a.m. with 12 bands.

The Butler Area Society of Homebrewers will operate a tasting tent on Saturday for a $10 donation from those 21 and older.

Tickets to the Band Jam can be purchased online for $25 until Friday morning or at the event for $35, cash only. Admission for children age 17 and under are free.
