Mars Applefest returns Oct. 7

Mars Applefest will return Oct. 7 with over 150 vendors.

Hosted by the Richland and Mars Rotary Clubs, the festival will feature everything from fine jewelry, quality arts and crafts, paintings, quaint decorations and trinkets, and nearby grown foods from local farms.

Visitors can enjoy music while trying homemade bread and pastries, funnel cakes, kettle corn, corn dogs and international flavors. Food vendors with seating will be under the Mars Town Square tent.

Visitors are also encouraged to take photos with the borough’s iconic flying saucer.

“This little piece of Americana is much beloved and a popular spot of the festivities,” a statement read. “Folks from across the nation make the trek to visit, to sit on the spaceship and say they have been to Mars.”

While admission is free, donations will be raised throughout the event. Parking is also free and a shuttle will be provided from an overflow lot.
