Pittsburgh man accused of sending explicit videos to agents posing as teen

A Pittsburgh man was accused of sending explicit videos to law enforcement agents who were posing as a 15-year-old girl, according to Cranberry Township police.

Maksudjon Kosimov, 23, was charged with felonies unlawful contact with a minor and criminal use of a communication facility.

Police said Kosimov traveled to Cranberry from Allegheny County to meet with the girl at her “home” and was met by agents from the FBI office in Pittsburgh, who had been posing as the girl online.

Agents contacted Cranberry police on Thursday, saying they had been communicating with Kosimov since Monday through social media, according to documents.

During conversations with Kosimov, agents said they assumed the identify of 15-year-old girl as a decoy.

Police said Kosimov asked to meet with the decoy to engage in sexual activity and sent her explicit videos of sexual acts.

Kosimov traveled to the Cranberry address on Thursday after communicating with the decoy. He was arrested and placed in Butler County Prison in lieu of $250,000 bail.

Kosimov is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing Aug. 11 before District Judge Kevin Flaherty.
