Seneca Valley senior Alyssa Senka raised $5,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association via her senior project.

Alyssa organized a walk in collaboration with the association’s program, The Longest Day, which encourages people to participate in any activity to raise funds for Alzheimer’s research.

The walk was held on April 2 at North Boundary Park in Cranberry Township.

Funds also were raised at her family’s church, Trinity Lutheran, as well as through raffle baskets donated by family and friends for bidding on the day of the walk.

Seneca Valley Senior High School is celebrating the 20th anniversary of instituting the senior project program, which has raised thousands for various causes when students choose to pursue a fundraiser for their project.
