Butler County's great daily newspaper

Miller Minutes

The passing of musical theater legend Angela Lansbury weighs heavy on me and many others in the entertainment community this week.

For those who aren’t familiar with her extensive body of work, Lansbury’s range of skill carried her through roles like Disney’s animated film “Beauty and the Beast” as the voice of Mrs. Potts, a mystery writer and amateur crime fighter in TV show “Murder ... She Wrote” and as a criminal baker in the Broadway production of “Sweeney Todd.”

The five-time Tony award winner shook up the Great White Way and other avenues of the entertainment business with her exceptional humor and killer vocals. For me, growing up watching her career blossom, she leaves behind a legacy of laughter and aspiration.

On that note, I’m happy to report theater and arts opportunities are abundant in Butler County this weekend.
