Lieutenant governor to chair crime and delinquency commission
Gov. Josh Shapiro appointed Lt. Gov. Austin Davis as the chairman of the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency on Tuesday, Feb. 28.
A news release from the governor’s office said as chairman, Davis will work to invest in services for Pennsylvania’s youth and violence prevention initiatives and will help drive investment into communities that have been left behind.
The commission serves as the justice planning and policymaking agency for Pennsylvania. By bringing together a wide range of experts in the fields of criminal and juvenile justice, victim services and related professions, the commission finds and implements violence prevention solutions.
According to the news release, Shapiro served as the commission’s chairman from 2015 to 2017 when he was a Montgomery County commissioner, and served on the commission from 2011 to 2017.
