Janet W. Mertz, of Butler, formerly of Zelienople, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022.

Born Jan. 3,1941, in Butler on the Henricks Dairy Farm, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Helen Say Henricks.

Janet graduated from Zelienople High School in 1958, where she was voted “May Queen” of her class. She went on to graduate from Robert Morris University and fulfilled her dream of working for United Airlines for more than 30 years, allowing her to travel the world.

She is survived by her husband, Jerome Mertz of Butler; her daughter, Natalie Suzanne Larkin of Michigan; her sisters, Bernice Dietrich of Freedom, Susan Dietrich of Fombell and Maxine Lauter of Florida; and eight nieces and nephews.

MERTZ — Arrangements for Janet W. Mertz, who died Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022, are under the direction of BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, Zelienople.

Burial will be held privately at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Zelienople.
