New COVID cases remain low in county

More than 80K fully vaccinated

The county continues to see low numbers of COVID-19 cases with nine new cases reported Friday by the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

Butler Health System said seven people were being treated for COVID-19 Friday, including one person in intensive care at Butler Memorial Hospital.

A total of 11,121 confirmed cases have been reported in the county since the pandemic began. No new deaths were reported Friday.

Statewide, 1,007 new cases raise the total to 1,200,543, and 24 new deaths bring the total to 27,187.

About 28,696 of the cases in the state are among health care workers.

In nursing and personal care homes, there are 71,713 cases among residents and 15,374 among employees. Of the deaths in the state, 13,270 have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care homes.

There are 1,152 people hospitalized statewide, including 289 in intensive care. The 14-day average number of people hospitalized per day continues to decrease after peaking at 2,751 in May 2020.

In the county, 80,715 people have been fully vaccinated and 14,249 have been partially vaccinated. Anybody age 12 or older can walk in to receive a vaccination at BHS clinics at the Clearview Mall and Clarion Hospital.

Across the state, 4,625,812 people are fully vaccinated and 1,584,919 people are partially vaccinated.

About 57,000 people are getting vaccinated every day. A total of 10,451,548 doses have been administered, including 6,210,731 first and single donations and 4,240,817 second doses.
