Man charged in alleged forgery of parole document

A New Castle man is accused of forging a document from the Pennsylvania Parole Board showing he passed a drug test.

Police said Robert Patrick Martin, 36, delivered a note to a business in Jackson Township to be excused from work. The note claimed he tested negative on a drug and alcohol test during a monthly checkup.

A human resources manager at the company contacted the agent listed on the document and police. The agent confirmed she did not write the letter and pointed out the forged note had a letterhead that had not been used in years.

Police confirmed the handwriting on the document did not match the agent’s handwriting.

Martin was charged with felony forgery.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. Wednesday before District Judge Amy Marcinkiewicz.
