Butler Eagle Sweet 16 football team 2025: Meet the county’s defensive all-stars
While their teammates on offense were busy providing blocks, gaining yards and scoring touchdowns, high school football defensive players were halting opposing drives with clutch tackles and creating turnovers. Some even managed to themselves contribute on the other side of the ball.
Butler County-area teams produced a number of stalwarts on defense this season. The following are the players named to the Butler Eagle’s Sweet 16 Defense first team and honorable mentions, listed alphabetically:
Tom Arth, sr., LB/TE, North Catholic: Opposing offenses made a point to not run his way, but Arth still tallied 33 tackles (six for a loss), three sacks, an interception and was credited with a safety. He added 302 receiving yards and nine TDs as a tight end.
