Jerome Doody
Jerome “Jerry” Doody, 73, of Cranberry Township, passed away peacefully with his loved ones by his side on Saturday, Aug. 5, 2023, at Good Samaritan Hospice in Wexford.
Jerry was the beloved husband of 51 years to Patricia Ann Doody, and the devoted father of Caroline Leuschen (Brett), and his little fur buddy, Levi.
Jerry loved to travel, especially to various beaches and islands. He loved boating and was a member of the Beaver Valley Yacht Club. His favorite hobbies included target shooting, lifting weights and reading – his favorite book was Out of This Furnace. Jerry was a “jack of all trades” and showed enormous pride in his finished projects. Most of all, Jerry loved helping others and spending time with his family and friends.
Jerry retired after 43 years with the U.S. Postal Service Network Distribution Center as a maintenance mechanic and, in his earlier years U.S. Postal Service General Mail Facility with the postal police. His friends appreciated him for his great work ethic, his can-do attitude, his expertise and knowledge, his sense of humor, and his great storytelling ability.
In addition to his wife, daughter and fur buddy, Jerry is survived, and will be missed so much, by his siblings, Maureen Doody of Pittsburgh, Thomas Doody (Joyce) of Nevada, Patricia Doody (Chuck Ettensohn) of Pittsburgh; and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sue Monahan (Bill) of Georgia.
His many nieces and nephews will miss their cool, fun and handsome Uncle Jerry, Tim Doody (Peter), Steve Davidson (Julie), Scott Davidson (Heather), Kati Doody, Megan Monahan, Zac Ettensohn and Leah Ettensohn. His great-nieces and great-nephews are Samantha, Kate, Tyler, Jane, Shaymus and Trevor Davidson.
Jerry was preceded in death by his loving parents and in-laws.
