Eat pizza; raise money

Armstrong is hosting Pizza With a Purpose from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 1, at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Cranberry Township, to benefit Inspired Hearts & Hands, a community partner of Armstrong’s Breaking Bread initiative.

Event participants will purchase an empty pizza box complete with 10 pizza slice tickets for $25. Slice tickets can be redeemed at the vendor booths of the eight local participating businesses.

The businesses donating pizza for the event include Anthony’s Coal-Fired Pizza, Monte Cellos Cranberry, The Training Table, Carlucci’s Pizza, Milano Pizza Callery, Peppino’s Pizza, Tani’s Pizza and Bruno’s Pizza.

In addition to enjoying pizza from various pizza shops, Armstrong is hosting one hour of free ice skating from 7 to 8 p.m.

Registration in advance is preferred, and there will be a limited number of pizza boxes available at the door. Visit the Pizza with a Purpose event page for information on registering.
