Harrisville police arrested Elijah Howard Stewart, 25, for an outstanding warrant from Florida on Tuesday, May 23.

According to Chief Jeff Hollidge, the warrant for the Harrisville man is the result of a series of probation violations stemming from strangulation charges in the Tampa Bay area.

The charges are classified as “domestic battery by strangulation” in the state of Florida.

Stewart was arrested at his home in the 400 block of East Mercer Street in the borough and is being held in Butler County Prison.
