Seneca mock trial team reaches states, first in school history
The Seneca Valley High School’s mock trial team, and the entire school, are celebrating the team’s status as the first in school history to advance to the state championship competition level.
Only 14 teams of 312 statewide advanced from regional to state competition, which was held in late March at the Dauphin County Courthouse.
The team finished in eighth place.
Members of the team are Leo Slacker, Calleigh Foulkrod, Jacob Hensley, Julia Acker, Sydney Kratsas, Kacy Christensen, Grant Hoover, Nick Porter, Sonya Dietz, Benjamin Carnino, Friyana Sepai, Lilly Hudac, Julia Gibilisco, Katie Mack and Morgan Dunn.
A very proud Brieana Nassan, Seneca Valley High School gifted support teacher, said the team’s tireless efforts and commitment to perfecting their case have been remarkable.
“These students are a true testament to the power of teamwork and the rewards that come with unwavering perseverance,” Nassan said in a news release from the school district.
