Cranberry Township

Cutting the ribbon on the MSA Thruway project are, from left, Commissioner Kim Geyer; Julia Desantes, representing state Rep. Cranberry Township is no stranger to building.

And whether it’s a new business, a nonprofit entity or residential development, the township is built with the community in mind.

That growth has remained steady over the past three decades. And, more importantly, has happened at a controlled yet sustainable pace, allowing the township to maintain the highest quality of service to the region.

Following the Cranberry Plan, township supervisors have focused on improving and maintaining infrastructure, as well as expanding services, programs and recreation offerings as the township has developed.

Major projects on Route 228, Freedom Road, Rochester Road and elsewhere have improved the commute for residents and employees. So has the inclusion of cutting-edge technology at the township’s Traffic Operations Center.

The township’s parks continue to be not-so-hidden gems, offering everything from pickleball to youth sports, a waterpark, world-class disc golf and much more. Cranberry Highlands Golf Course further expands those offerings with a picturesque 18 holes.

In 2021, the township’s premiere recreation facility, Graham Park, received a jolt of excitement as it welcomed UPMC Passavant as its new signature sponsor.

At the heart of it all, the township places a heavy focus on offering unparalleled customer service. Every department, whether it be Planning & Development Services or Parks & Recreation, are ready to serve the community and help residents, businesses and nonprofits find answers.

That wide-ranging commitment to excellence in all aspects of government is why Cranberry Township remains a hotbed of maintained growth.

“For three decades, the Board of Supervisors have worked hard to promote sustainable growth while also making sure the township’s quality of service never wains,” said Dick Hadley, board chairman. “Our community members have joined us in this mission to complete many major projects. Making Cranberry Township a great place to live, work and play is a true community effort.”
