Aspirational Health opens in Mars

With convenience and an enhanced patient experience in mind, Dr. Nikhil Asher founded Aspirational Health at 1002 Emeryville Road in Mars to serve as an innovative physician-owned and operated private health facility.

“I always wanted to start a new practice that incorporated integrated health care within a primary care setting,” Asher said. “We were looking for ways to have a team-based approach with a team of professionals that can look at the patient and focus on all aspects of care from mental health to physical health, fitness and medical nutrition.”

Asher, who is board certified in internal medicine and critical care medicine, is Aspirational Health’s founder and medical director.

Aspirational Health began accepting patients Aug. 22.

This gave Asher and his team a chance to show of the new Personal Care Provider and the urgent care services they are capable of providing.

“Right here, in our medical center, we do same-day walk-in care as well,” Asher said. “Folks don't have to go to an urgent care because they can come to their PCP office and have their same-day needs met. That keeps it all at one place rather than having to go to an ER or urgent care facility.”

Physical well-being is something that Aspiratonal Health is going to spend a lot of time on, Asher said, through its Aspirational Wellness Program.

“Essentially that involves having a nutritionist on staff and dietitian,” Asher said. “We look at exercise and physical fitness as well as a behavioral health councilor for mental health. We also have a yoga instructor to deal with chronic pain.”

The services through the wellness program are optional and on a subscription basis. Classes such as yoga, one-on-one fitness training and nutrition and behavioral health counseling are offered for an additional fee.

Asher said Aspirational Health aims to “change the flavor of how primary care is offered,” thus offering a new experience for the patients.

“A lot of health and wellness involves a trusting relationship,” Asher said. “It’s been a gradual ramp up. It’s been nice because we have been able to spend more time with folks, showing them the facility and what we have to offer.”
