Staffer earns Apple Teacher certification
ADAMS TWP — Colleen Hinrichsen, instructional technology coordinator for the Mars School District, earned certification as an “Apple Teacher” through the Apple Teacher Learning Center.
At the elementary level, Hinrichsen works with teachers to enhance everyday lessons through the use of available technology as well as online applications and software.
Hinrichsen recently coordinated a virtual field trip reinforcing math and social studies lessons for first-graders at Mars Primary Center, using the Nearpod and ChatterPix apps on the school’s iPads.
At Mars Centennial School, she helped to introduce sixth-graders to engineering through the computer-aided drafting app, TinkerCAD. She also aided sixth-graders in filming and editing weather forecasts as an extension of their science lesson, using the Do Ink Green Screen app on an iPad and the Windows Movie Maker program.
Apple Teacher is a free professional learning program designed to support and celebrate educators using Apple products for teaching and learning.
