SLIPPERY ROCK — Two Slippery Rock University basketball players — Frankie Hughes and Jamiyah Johnson — have been named PSAC West Men's Defensive Player and Women's Athlete of the Week, respectively.

Hughes, a guard on the men's team, had six steals, two blocked shots and three defensive rebounds in Rock wins over Penn State Fayette and East Stroudsburg.

Johnson, a center, averaged 25 points and 20 rebounds for the women's team in wins over Ursuline and Malone.
