Butler County Community College is hosting two writing workshops and a reading in a free North Appalachia Reading Series.

On Tuesday, Butler County Community College is hosting a reading by award-winning Slippery Rock author Dr. Damian Dressick and writing workshops by Dressick and Grove City author Ellaura Shoop at the Heaton Family Learning Commons on the main campus in Butler Township.

Shoop will conduct a self-publishing workshop from 12:45 to 2 p.m., and Dressick will conduct a flash fiction workshop from 5 to 5:45 p.m.

At 6 p.m., Dressick will read from his books “40 Patchtown” and “Fables of the Deconstruction.” To reserve a spot in the flash fiction workshop, which is limited to 12 guests, people should contact professor Mike Dittman at mike.dittman@bc3.edu or at 724-287-8711, ext. 8251.
