BC3 plans week of remote classes before final exams

Butler County Community College will move its credit-earning classes to remote learning between Nov. 29 and Dec. 4.

According to BC3 President Nicholas Neupauer, the remote learning will help with COVID-19 mitigation by limiting the number of people on campus at one time.

Students attending classes that do not involve credits as well as faculty and staff will continue on campus during the designated week.

Credit-earning students will return to campus for finals week, beginning Dec. 6.

According to college officials, finals week is designed and spaced in a way that naturally limits the campus population.

No announcements have been made regarding the spring semester at this time, but during Wednesday's meeting for the college's board of trustees, Neupauer said administrators will continue monitoring the situation.
