Richard O'Donovan

Richard Regis O'Donovan, 85, of New Sewickley Township, passed away on Friday, Aug. 20, 2021, while under the care of Harmony Haus Senior Living in Ambridge.

Born May 10, 1936, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Dorothy Hunt Micklick.

Richard proudly served our country in the U.S. Army. He worked for H.J. Heinz Company for over 40 years until his retirement. He enjoyed listening to Johnny Cash and watching John Wayne movies. An avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt and fish. A die-hard fan, he also enjoyed cheering on the Steelers and the Pirates. Richard was affectionately known as “Irish” to his many wonderful friends. Above all, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 63 years, Carol Fitzgerald O'Donovan, whom he married on Aug. 9, 1958; his children, Debra Yurko and her loving companion, William Lutz, of North Sewickley Township, Sharon Lemmon and her husband, Gerald, of Prospect, Carol Murphy and her loving companion, John Veres, of Prospect, Patricia Aggas and her husband, James, of New Castle, and Richard O'Donovan and his wife, Lisa, of East Grand Rapids, Mich.; his grandchildren, Alyssa, Garett, Justin, Ryan, Cody, Josh, Jacob, Zach, Jacob, and Maureen; his great-grandchildren, Jayden, Landon, Levi, Colton, Jaxson and Jackson; and his brother, James O'Donovan of Edinboro.O'Donovan — Friends of Richard Regis O'Donovan, who died Friday, Aug. 20, 2021, will be received from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral ceremony at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Boylan-Glenn-Kildoo Funeral Home & Cremation Svcs., 130 Wisconsin Ave., PO Box 2155, Cranberry Township, with Pastor Reid Moon officiating.He will be laid to rest with military honors at Pinewood Memorial Gardens in Cranberry Township.Donations may be made in his honor to the Lewy Body Dementia Association, online: https://www.lbda.org/donate/.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.Please sign the guest book at www.butlereagle.com.
