Annabelle “Belle” Mae Davey, 91, of Zelienople, passed away on Aug. 13, 2021, after an extended illness.

Born on June 24, 1930, in Zelienople, to John and Mabel Knauer, she had a close connection to family, always residing on East Spring Street near her parents and two of her sisters.

Belle graduated as second salutatorian of her Zelienople High School Class of 1948.

She was a member of St. Peter's Reformed Church.

Belle had a love of the outdoors, tending her tomato plants and flowers, sitting on her front porch, and attending the community parades. She took daily walks until she had a severe stroke in May 2017.

Belle retired from her position as the principal's secretary at Seneca Valley High School in 2001. He frequently said that she “ran that school!” She enjoyed her 25 years working in education.

Belle leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of 71 years, Chuck; her children, Carolyn Piper, Bob Davey, Bill Davey and Linda Hofmann; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Kathryn Steeb and Mary Lou Pietrusinski.

She was preceded in death by her son, Ed Davey; and her sister, Betty Steeb.

DAVEY — The family of Annabelle “Belle” Mae Davey, who died Friday, Aug. 13, 2021, will welcome friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E Grandview Ave., Zelienople.

Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter's Reformed Church, 320 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.

Committal services will be held for immediate family at St. Peter's Reformed Church Cemetery, Zelienople.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Zelienople Area Public Library, 227 S. High St., Zelienople, PA 16063.
