Free seminar on dealing with mentally ill loved one
The National Alliance on Mental Illness of Butler County (NAMI) is offering its Family-to-Family program, which is a free, eight-session educational program for family, significant others and friends of people with mental health conditions.
The seminar is meant to improve the coping and problem-solving abilities of the people closest to a person with a mental-health condition.
The sessions, led by NAMI-trained family members who have experienced the same issues, include presentations, discussions and interactive exercises.
Those who attend will learn strategies for caring for a person with a mental-health condition and that they are not alone.
The classes will be from 6 to 8 p.m. each Wednesday, beginning March 10.
The deadline to register is March 3.
